The Acrosstown Repertory Theatre & Thursday Afternoon Productions are seeking to cast the upcoming play from the director of CLOSER.


October 25th and 26th, 2009

ABOUT THE SHOW

BUG tells the story of Agnes White, a woman holed up in a seedy motel in Oklahoma, who is tortured by fear and loss. A chance encounter brings Peter Evans, an unstable war veteran, into her isolated and claustrophobic existence. It is through this man that Agnes finds escape from the things that gnaw at her, but at a high price.



THE CHARACTERS

1. Agnes White (late 20s-40s female) is a woman living in fear, regret, and isolation.

2. Peter Evans (late 20s-30s male) is a war veteran filled with paranoia and rage.

3. Jerry Goss (late 20s-40s male) is Agnes' abusive jailbird ex-husband.

4. R.C. (Ronnie) (20s-30s female) is Agnes' best friend and a drug addled lesbian.

5. Dr. Sweet (30s+ - male or female) is a caring, but flawed psychiatrist.

*Please come with a prepared dramatic monologue & be ready for a cold reading from the script.


**PLEASE NOTE: BUG is a mature play with adult themes and situations - it will contain some adult language, nudity, violence, and simulated drug use.

Additionally, several roles will require regional accents.
